The UK visa fees increase announced by the Home Office, set to take effect from 9 April 2025, will impact a broad range of visa applications, nationality services, and premium services.
UK visa fees increase explained
Here are the 17 changes in UK visa fees:
Visit Visas: Increase by £12 (short-term) and £96 (long-term).
Transit Visas: Increase by £4 (airside) and £6 (landside).
Hong Kong BN(O) Visas: Increase by £13 (30-month) and £18 (5-year).
Settlement Routes: Increase by £92 to £163, depending on the visa type.
Innovator Founder Visa: Increase by £83.
Skilled Worker Visas: Increase by up to £99.
Global Talent Visa: Increase by £13 (with approval letter) and £50 (without approval letter).
Tier 1 & Other Work Routes: Increase by up to £116.
Health and Care Visa: Increase by £20.
Student Visas: Increase by £34.
Child Student Visas: Increase by £34.
Short-term Student Visas: Increase by £14.
Visitor Extension: Increase by £100.
Leave to Enter/Remain: Increase by £63.
Hong Kong British National (In-country): Increase by £13 (30-month) and £18 (5-year).
Travel Documents: Increase by £10 to £20.
Naturalisation & Registration (Citizenship): Increase by £95 (naturalisation), £70 (British overseas territory citizens).
Certain UK visa fees will not change despite the overall increases. Specifically, the Priority Visa Services (which cost £500 for standard priority and £1,000 for super-priority) and the Priority & Super-priority Services within the UK will remain the same, with no fee adjustments. These services offer faster processing times for applicants but will not see any fee hikes in the latest changes.
Additionally, the Premium Sponsor Service fees will stay at £25,000 for large sponsors and £8,000 for small sponsors, ensuring stability for organizations involved in sponsoring workers and other visa applicants.
